The Weather Outside is Frightful!

Unless you've been living in an underground bunker this week, chances are STRONG that you've been dealing with some nasty weather. Even here in Nashville we actually got some snow for once!  Yay!!  And a LOT of ice...booo!!!

During this time it's common to get a little stir-crazy (especially when the whole state shuts down). You could be thinking "Cool! A​n excuse to go on that Netflix binge I've been putting off!!"  

OK...but first let's make a deal. I'll let you put on your trusted Snuggie, fire up the TV and settle in but FIRST you have to knock out a workout - deal?

I know...I know...I can hear the cries now​, "but Chris the weather is SO bad outside I can't get to the gym".  Fear not, for I have some options for you to get your sweat on my friend!

Online Streaming Workouts


As long has you haven't lost power and have a decent internet connection, streaming workouts might be a handy solution for you. Many cable and satellite companies have an On-demand service that not only carries your favorite movies and TV shows, but workouts as well. Quite often they're led by "celebrity" trainers like Bob Harper, Jillian Michaels, etc.  Pick your favorite personality and go.

There are also services like DailyBurn that allow you to customize (to an extent) what you want to do by entering how long you want to work out, type of workout and intensity of the workout.​ It's pretty handy.  Many even have a free trial period so you can see if it's something your into.

If you want to spend the time to search around the web, you can always hit up YouTube. There are a ton of workout videos there. Just remember, while there are some excellent workouts there, you're taking a chance with the quality of instruction and the workout itself. Remember that anyone can post. :)​


Personal Trainers


This is a "no-brainer" but easily overlooked. If you're currently working with a trainer that you like or have previously, hit them up! Ask them for an at-home workout. Be sure to inform them of any equipment that you have (none is needed) and any other factors that may come into play such as space available, time restraints, etc.

Go Outside Anyway


Depending on what the weather is, it may be a lot of fun to go outside and play! If you have the opportunity to go sled riding, you'll not only have the enjoyment of flying down the hill, but the workout of lugging that thing back up to the top. It may not be the most intense workout of your life, but it's something and certainly better than doing nothing at all!  Just be safe.

So whether you decide to venture out into the elements or stay indoors, there's no reason not to get your daily exercise on!
